Fat Book: Explaining what the early A.A.’s did, said, and read, bridging the gap between the Big Book and the Good Book, and the basic truth of Alcoholics Anonymous (The Fat Book Collection)

The Fat Book was created as a study aid for those who are looking for a deeper understanding of the Alcoholics Anonymous “Big Book.” The book is broken down into three parts. Part One contains exact copy of the Big Book First Edition on the left-hand pages and A.A. history, insights, and background information on the corresponding right hand “A” pages. We hope this helps you unpack deeper meaning by providing clarity and context without changing a single word of the original text as printed in 1939. In addition to the first 164 pages of Alcoholics Anonymous, we have included three of the original Personal Stories, as well as the personal story of the creator of the Fat Book. The founders of Alcoholics Anonymous firmly believed that it was not just any higher power that heals us but the One high power, who Dr. Bob called “the God of the Good Book.” It is He who heals and sets us free of our addictions. This fact was clearly present in the Personal Stories section of the First Edition and we felt it vital to include these stories for you here. Part Two contains quick reference sheets (“Learning Pages”) that break down the main ideas, themes, and processes described within the A.A. Big Book, as well as various noted A.A. literature. Part Three includes every biblical reference noted within this book as well as an appendix containing additional relevant literature. It is our hope that using this study book will illuminate the founders’ original message about the true source of freedom from addiction so that you, too, may be set free.
