Hospitalisms: Funny, strange, and odd stuff that is medically induced.

They say laughter is the best medicine, and when it comes to hospitals, a good dose of humor can be the prescription! Imagine a book that captures the funny, strange, and downright oddball experiences from real-life hospital stories. Well, look no further! "Hospitalisms" is here to tickle your funny bone and provide a unique glimpse into the lighter side of healthcare. As you flip through the pages, you'll discover that laughter truly is the ultimate remedy. For instance, A man comes into the emergency department, saying his wife is ill and he cannot get her out of the car. We tried to remove her from the car, but she had no pulse. We administered Narcan, then another Narcan, and then on the third Narcan dosage, she woke up quickly, saying, "I have to poop." She then asked for a cigarette. Guy walks in for an appointment, so I ask, "Sir, do you need directions?" He says, "Maybe I was shot in the leg two weeks ago, so I need to see a doctor to have the bullet removed." A woman comes in and says she was sleeping in a church and was beaten up by the security guards. We asked what she needs, and she responded that she is here to throw away her blanket that’s outside and get a new one. We explained that we don’t give away free blankets to non-patients, so we asked if she needed to go to the emergency room. She says, "I can’t go there as they have my X-ray," then tells us, "The CIA is there and they want my brain." A man who thought he was dying told his wife, "Honey, I slept with six other women in the past year and wanted to get that off my conscience." She said okay and walked out to let him die alone. He survived.
