BEHIND THE SCENES REAL LIFE STORIES ABOUT HOOSIER HYSTERIA, INDIANA HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL, IN THE 50s, 60s, and 70s BY SOMEONE WHO LIVED IT. This sports author grew up in the small town of Pittsboro, just west of Indianapolis. He graduated from Pittsboro High School (1962) and Indiana State University (1966). In his book, he tells his unique story of growing up, playing, and coaching basketball in several small towns in central and northern Indiana including Lebanon Jr. High, Pittsboro, Pioneer (Royal Center), North Salem, and West Noble (Ligonier) high schools during the peak of "Hoosier Hysteria" in the 50s, 60s, and 70s. The author also explains how school consolidation, the end of one class basketball, and "Saturday Morning" coaches affected the game in Indiana. He feels privileged to have played against or coached with or against several INDIANA BASKETBALL HALL OF FAME inductees. He also feels a connection to the movie "HOOSIERS" because he either played or coached in three of the gyms used in filming the movie. His Pittsboro High School teammate and best friend's son also played Ollie in the movie. He blends episodes that occurred in the movie with situations he had during his almost twenty years of playing and coaching the best game ever invented, Indiana High School basketball. Finally. he shares his testimony of how a medical situation his wife experienced ten years ago changed their life. Suppose you enjoy Indiana high school basketball, the movie "HOOSIERS", comeback stories, underdog stories, love stories, and people dealing with adversity. In that case, he hopes you will enjoy his story and connect with his book.
