Why Penn State: Why the 1980s Gave Nittany Lions a Common Cause, Shared Values and the Keys to Success

Author/curator Greg Woodman is a Penn State alumnus who spent his tuition money printing T-shirts that he sold walking from tailgate to tailgate in 1979. In the years that followed, he created the famous cardboard Standup Joe Paterno, the "twins poster," the "Are You a Penn Stater" guidebook and the Miami Nice T-shirt for the Orange Bowl, along with Happy Valley Promotions' Penn State Football Annuals throughout the '80s. By 1984, he was named Young Entrepreneur of the state of Pennsylvania, and in 1985, he co-founded Blue White Illustrated. Today, Greg is an Instructor of Entrepreneurial Leadership at Penn State University and CEO of Affinity Connection that is based, of course, in Happy Valley—the greatest place on earth to live, work and play. Affinity Connection, in name and mission, promotes human connectedness and purpose. In "Why Penn State," he's curated a decade of exclusive interviews, never-before-seen photos, memorabilia and brand-new content into a must-have book for Penn Staters from all decades.
